The bare minimum isn’t cutting it these days. If you’re starting a podcast, high quality audio is a must, and that’s still not enough. You’re going to need some visuals, whether that be graphics or video content.

You need to find quality software for each aspect of your podcast, if you plan on taking it seriously. So, I’ve compiled a list of free and cheap resources!

Anchor (free): The most popular podcast hosting platform right now. Anchor gives users an easy to use interface for setting up their RSS feed, checking audience analytics, and monetizing their show.

Pixlr (free): Pixlr is the off brand Adobe photoshop. It’s my favorite photo editor for a couple of reasons. It has more features and freedom of use than Canva. It’s also cloud-based and free unlike Photoshop. In my opinion, it’s the perfect software for amateur graphic designers.

Audacity (free): Audacity is a long-standing DAWs (digital audio workshop). It’s old, free, and looks like it hasn’t been updated since Windows Vista. Even with all of that, it still gets the job done.

Fiverr (not free): Come in closer for this one (a little closer). Fiverr is THE shit. Video editing, cover art, voice overs, and anything else you might need to outsource is on this site. There is an abundance of talented individuals on Fiverr. Build individual relationships and tip well, because you will get a big ROI finding the right people on this site.
